Statutory figures follow Philippine DOLE — Service Incentive Leave. Every value above is editable, because contracts and awards often improve on the legal minimum. This calculator is a guide, not legal advice — check your own contract or the authority linked above before acting on a figure.
Annual leave for a part-time employee is worked out pro rata: take the full-time allowance, divide it by the number of days a full-time employee works, then multiply by the days the part-timer actually works. Someone on three days a week with a 25-day full-time allowance gets 25 ÷ 5 × 3 = 15 days.
Starters and leavers are pro-rated again across the portion of the leave year they are employed for. Six months of a 25-day allowance is 12.5 days.
Wherever a country sets a statutory floor, the calculator applies it automatically — an employer can always offer more than the legal minimum, but never less.

The legal minimum paid annual leave for a full-time employee on a five-day week, and whether public holidays are granted on top. Employers frequently offer more than the floor shown here.
| Country | Annual leave | Public holidays | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | 28 days | — | 5.6 weeks; employers may count the 8 bank holidays within it. |
| Ireland | 20 days | +10 | 4 weeks, or 8% of hours worked, whichever is greater. |
| Australia | 20 days | +11 | 4 weeks under the NES, accruing progressively; plus long service leave. |
| New Zealand | 20 days | +12 | 4 weeks after 12 months of continuous employment. |
| Canada | 10 days | +9 | 2 weeks federally, rising with service; provinces set their own floors. |
| United States | None | — | No federal statutory paid leave; PTO is set entirely by employer policy. |
| India | 15 days | +3 | Earned leave varies by state Act; Factories Act gives 1 day per 20 worked. |
| Singapore | 7 days | +11 | 7 days in year one, rising by 1 a year to 14 days. |

Divide the full-time annual allowance by the number of days a full-time employee works each week, then multiply by the number of days the part-time employee works. For a 25-day allowance and a three-day week, that is 25 ÷ 5 × 3 = 15 days.
It depends entirely on the country. The UK sets 5.6 weeks (28 days), Ireland and Australia set four weeks, France sets five, and the United States has no federal statutory paid leave at all. The comparison table on this page lists the statutory minimum for 16 countries.
In most countries public holidays are a separate entitlement on top of annual leave. The UK is the notable exception — employers there are allowed to count the eight bank holidays inside the 28-day statutory allowance.
Pro-rate the annual allowance across the months they will actually be employed in the leave year. An employee joining in July on a 24-day allowance accrues roughly 12 days for that first partial year.
That depends on the employer's carry-over policy and local law. Some jurisdictions require unused statutory leave to be carried over or paid out, others permit a 'use it or lose it' rule. Leave accrued during sick leave or parental leave usually has to be carried forward.
In most jurisdictions accrued but untaken statutory leave must be paid out on termination, calculated pro rata to the leaving date. Contractual leave above the statutory minimum may be treated differently depending on the contract.
