Under the National Employment Standards, full-time and part-time employees get four weeks of paid annual leave a year. It accrues progressively from the first day of employment against ordinary hours worked — there is no waiting period, and overtime does not accrue leave.
A full-time employee on 38 ordinary hours a week accrues 152 hours of annual leave a year. Part-timers accrue the same four weeks pro-rated to their ordinary hours. Casual employees do not accrue paid annual leave; their casual loading is paid instead.
Personal/carer's leave is 10 days a year for full-time employees, also accruing progressively and pro-rated for part-timers. Unlike annual leave, it is not paid out on termination.
Long service leave is not part of the NES — each state and territory legislates its own. Most give 8.667 weeks after 10 years of continuous service, but South Australia and the Northern Territory give 13 weeks, and Victoria, Queensland and the ACT let employees access it from seven years.

Four weeks a year for full-time and part-time employees under the National Employment Standards, accruing progressively across the year. Some shiftworkers get five weeks. Casual employees receive casual loading instead of paid annual leave.

It depends on your state. New South Wales, Western Australia, Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory generally require 10 years of continuous service, while Victoria, Queensland and the ACT allow access from seven years. Pro-rata payment on termination usually starts earlier, often at five to seven years.
Most states accrue at about 0.867 weeks per year of service, which produces 8.667 weeks — two months — after 10 years. South Australia and the Northern Territory accrue at 1.3 weeks a year, giving 13 weeks after 10 years.
Annual leave continues to accrue while an employee is on paid annual leave or paid personal/carer's leave. It does not accrue during unpaid leave, other than periods of community service leave or unpaid family and domestic violence leave.
Yes. Accrued but untaken annual leave must be paid out on termination for full-time and part-time employees, including any applicable leave loading. Personal/carer's leave is not paid out.
